Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Broomfield FISH! Give the gift of your time and talent as a Broomfield FISH volunteer and make a direct impact.  Our volunteers are vital to the work we do! They sort and track food donations, meet with clients, assist at fundraising events and much more.

Please sign-up below for shifts that work best for you. If you have not completed a FISH Volunteer Application, you will need to do so when you arrive at FISH for your first shift.

FISH is NOT accepting court-ordered community service volunteers at this time.

Offsite Projects

If you are interested in doing an offsite project individually or with a group, check out these options that are good for all ages!

Be a garden volunteer!

Come help our new plants grow and thrive! We have openings for volunteers to come once a week for an hour to water, weed, or harvest in the new TEACHING GARDEN at FISH. Our season will run from May to September.

Youth Volunteer Opportunities

FISH’s Youth Engagement Squad (YES)!

Applications are now closed.

FISH’s Youth Engagement Squad (YES) is made up of dedicated, energetic students in 8th through 11th grade who live and/or go to school in Broomfield and have an interest in community service. YES is a great opportunity to give back to the community, meet other youth from across the county, and enhance leadership skills.

Applications for the 2024 term are now closed. We will open up applications for the 2025 term in November 2024.

You must be at least 16 years old to volunteer in the FISH Marketplace. A parent/guardian must sign your Volunteer Application if you are 16-17 years old. Due to COVID, FISH is NOT accepting court ordered community service volunteers at this time.

Volunteer Spotlight:

Chris Bairrington

This month’s spotlight, Chris, is a part of our Tuesday morning crew and helps with food pickups in our truck as a ride-along on Mondays! Chris has been volunteering with FISH for a year, and in that time he has loved meeting and getting to know all of the staff and volunteers. He shares, “We have such a great group of people that have such great hearts.” Being the multi-talented person he is, he enjoys golfing and woodworking when he is not busy moving food around our warehouse, stocking shelves, and helping participants. Thank you, Chris!
