Housing Assistance
To help our neighbors stay securely in their homes, Broomfield FISH offers two housing programs,”Keeping Families Housed” and “Keeping Seniors Housed.” Both programs are designed to prevent evictions and are only for people who already live in Broomfield.
If you have questions for our team regarding support services, please call 303-465-1600 or email help@broomfieldfish.org.
Keeping Seniors Housed
Keeping Seniors Housed (KSH) is a multi-month program for adults aged 65 and older living in Broomfield that provides rental assistance while participants work toward goals designed to strengthen resources, address emergency situations, and promote long-term housing stability. Eligible adults may receive rental assistance for up to six months during the program, although the exact amount and duration of assistance depend on available funding. To receive rental assistance, participants must agree to regular check-ins with a FISH advocate and commit to collaborating on individualized goals throughout the program. The program is designed to help older adults remain safely housed while building connections to resources and supports that can strengthen their long-term stability and quality of life.
If you are interested in learning more about applying for Keeping Seniors Housed, please contact our team by calling us at 303-465-1600 or by emailing us at help@broomfieldfish.org.
Keeping Families Housed
Keeping Families Housed (KFH) is a multi-month program for families living in Broomfield, with children under the age of 18, that provides rent supports while participants work toward goals to strengthen and stabilize their families. Participants in the program may receive rental assistance up to three months throughout the course of the program. The exact amount of assistance may vary depending on funding. In order to receive the rental subsidy, participants must commit to monthly meetings with a FISH advocate, as well as agreeing to collaborate on program and family goals throughout the duration of the program.
The application process for Keeping Families Housed has recently changed. Please refer to the updates below.
Changes to FISH’s “Keeping Families Housed” Housing Assistance Program
Keeping Families Housed provides rent support for Broomfield families with children under 18 while participants work toward long-term stability goals.
Starting in the third week of June, we are making a few updates to how families apply for our Keeping Families Housed emergency rent assistance program. We want to ensure this process is clear, fair, and easily accessible for everyone.
Here is what you need to know about the new process:
- There is a new interest form: The interest form is only available 3 days per month, starting at 9:00 a.m. on the third Monday of the month and closes at 5:00 p.m. that Wednesday. You may submit an interest form online (below) or in person at FISH. Please submit only one interest form per family.
- The selection process is randomized: Within 24 hours of the interest form closing, families will be randomly selected to receive the full application. The number of families selected will be based on program availability.
- Next steps: The randomly selected families will receive a full application and have one week to complete and return it.
This is an INTEREST form, and not a full application. During the months we have program availability, the form will be open during the following window:
- Opens: 9:00am on the third Monday of the month.
- Closes: 5:00pm on the third Wednesday of the month.
If the form is closed when you click the link, it means the current window has ended or the program is temporarily full. We encourage you to check back next month.
