New Rent Assistance Program Available On 2/15/2024

Per DOLA’s guidelines, anyone who has received ANY rental assistance in the last YEAR, is NOT ELIGIBLE for this funding.

Thank you for being part of the Broomfield FISH community. We know that the skyrocketing cost of housing is the number one reason families are struggling and we wanted to let you know about an important opportunity that could help you during these challenging times. On February 15th, the Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) will launch the Colorado Temporary Rental Assistance Program (T-RAP) for individuals and families at risk of eviction or displacement. Please continue reading for some IMPORTANT & TIME SENSITIVE information about this program.

About the Temporary Rental Assistance Program:

Interested individuals will be asked to complete a pre-application. They will have six days to submit. After this period, there will be a random selection, and selected applicants will be invited to apply for temporary rental assistance.

How to Apply:

To apply for Colorado T-RAP , please visit the official state website at https://cdola.colorado.gov/temporary-rental-assistance. There, you will find detailed information about the application process, eligibility criteria, frequently asked questions, and required documentation. If you have any questions or need assistance with the application–including language translation support– please contact the CARE Center by calling or texting 1 (720) 356-0174 or 1 (888) 480-0066, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Mountain time.

Important Dates:

The Pre-application form will be available starting February 15, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., and open to apply until February 20, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. The next funding opportunity will be on the fifteenth (15) day of every month through May 2024, as long as funds are available.

We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. We believe that this program can make a positive impact on the lives of many in our community.

Future rental assistance eligibility at FISH

Due to budget constraints, FISH has very limited emergency rent assistance dollars. Therefore, if you are awarded rent assistance through another program in 2024, whether it be DOLA or through any other organization, it will impact your eligibility for emergency assistance through FISH. Our intent is to ensure fair distribution of resources and support across our various programs. We encourage all participants to shop at our free, self-shop Marketplace. The money you save by getting food at FISH–up to $800 a month in groceries–can go towards other expenses like housing, transportation, or child care. We encourage any of our participants with children under the age of 18 living in the household for more than 50% of the time to inquire about FISH’s Keeping Families Housed Program (KFH). KFH is a multi-month rental support program for families with children where participants work towards goals to strengthen and stabilize their families.
