Welcome

Our Mission is our passion:

FISH is a human services agency, organized as a tax exempt organization under IRS Section 501(c)3.  We have been operational since the 1960s, and were formally incorporated in May 2001.

In November 2010, FISH received 48,000 lbs. of food from all sources, and distributed 35,000 lbs. to clients: a record month on both ends!

Congratulations to our very own Mike Lutz, Food Pantry Manager, for winning the Heart of Broomfield award for Community Service in 2011 from the Broomfield Community Foundation!  Mike joins Wendy Fiedler, Shirley McGuinness, Karen Steele, Liz Law-Evans, and Jan Kardatzke as Heart of Broomfield winners, who have been deeply committed to Broomfield FISH over the years.

Fellowship In Serving Humanity

Serving as community trustees, we meet our neighbors’ basic human needs, and provide them with hope and tools to rise out of poverty.

Tour de FISH

Are you a possible future volunteer or donor?  Or are you just curious about FISH, or want to know more?  Our volunteers are conducting monthly tours of our facilities at noon on the last Tuesday of each month.  The tour will take about 20-25 minutes.  Optionally, at the conclusion of the tour, you can bring a brown bag lunch and join us for a Q & A session with the Executive Director, a Board member and your tour guides.  It is an opportunity to become more acquainted with what we do, and for whom.

We are humbled by the support we received from this year’s fundraiser: $130,000 by cash, checks, credit cards, and pledges into future years.  This is a clear message from the community that our Board of Trustees is leading FISH in the right direction.  Our thanks to our clients who had the courage to tell their story to our guests.  We are deeply grateful to Century Chevrolet for their huge commitment to FISH over the next five years.  Paula and Steve Reynolds also gave us a very significant commitment.

Our thanks go to all who gave their time to attend the Harvest of Hope this year.  We are delighted that more than 80% of all donors were first-time donors to FISH.  It is gratifying that so many more people learned of FISH’s work.
